We are saddened and outraged by the news of the brutal murder of George Floyd at the hands of law enforcement in Minneapolis. Excessive police force overwhelmingly results in the death of Black people. This disproportionate use of deadly force, whether intentional or not, has a lasting impact that leads to distrust in our public officials. The four police officers involved must be held accountable in a court of law, and we must continue to fight for racial justice.
