Elliot also serves as an official Redescubre el Yunque volunteer in the first-ever Citizen Science effort on El Yunque National Forest, in collaboration with La Fundación Amigos de el Yunque, Corazón Latino, and other community partners.
During the webinar we will hear from Elliot about his educational efforts that have uplifted this great honor. We will also hear from Elliot, and several of the Redescubre el Yunque team members and leaders, such as Chris Nytch, University of Puerto Rico (UPR) affiliated investigator with the Environmental Sciences Department and Fundación Amigos de El Yunque Project Lead, Felipe Benitez, Executive Director, Corazon Latino, and others, as they share some exciting project updates and highlights surrounding the newly launched Citizen Science and community engagement effort on El Yunque National Forest, which is serving to enhance connections between the forest and surrounding communities.
Elliot will also share some of his efforts with the Luquillo Long-Term Ecological Research program (LUQ-LTER) , in which he and his students utilize LUQ-LTER data to support the unit’s research efforts.
