Statement from Corazón Latino, a national environmental organization, on the Biden Administration’s Executive Orders on Climate and Environmental Justice

Felipe Benítez, Executive Director of Corazón Latino, today released the following statement on the announcement of several Executive Orders from the Biden Administration related to tackling climate change, environmental justice, and nature-based solutions.

“Latino, black, and immigrant communities are on the front lines of the fight for environmental justice. Today, we are very pleased that the Biden-Harris administration is taking bold steps to address harmful pollution and climate safety for all, with the signing of several Executive Orders and Memorandums related to climate change, environmental justice, and natural resources stewardship. “

“With job creation, protection of our Madre Tierra, and equity at their core, these inclusive executive actions are an essential step in the right direction. They will help ensure that Latino communities and communities of color across the country are healthier and stronger. There remains much more courageous environmental justice work to be done, but today, we are encouraged and more energized than ever to continue pressing forward, fighting the good fight. We hope you will join us in the effort to ensure environmental justice for all!.”
