Corazón Latino celebrates Bat Week in DC, VA, PR, and nationwide!

As part of the 2019 Bat Week Celebration, Corazón Latino conducted the following activities to raise awareness on the importance of bats.

  • Gubernatorial Proclamation from VA : Corazon Latino requested and received a proclamation to officially recognize Bat Week from the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

  • Descubre el Bosque blog: Los murciélagos: una especie incomprendida pero de suma importancia - Corazon Latino wrote and published a Spanish language blog on Bat Week. The blog was picked in various other Spanish language publications here, here, here, and here.

  • Bat Week Happy Hour - Corazon Latino hosted a happy hour on Monday, October 28th at our offices in Washington, DC, to discuss the importance of bats in our ecosystem. Several guests (mostly young professional learned about the vital role that these creatures play in our lives including pollination, seed dispersion and pest control. They also enjoyed tasty food and drinks.

  • Bat,Week in Puerto Rico - In the Municipality of Florida, Puerto Rico, teacher Elliot Lopez hosted a well attended (over 400 students, teachers, and parents) event at the Juan Ponce the León High School with several fun and educational activities on bats.
